ICPC was created to…
prevent,

and prosecute corruption, especially in the public sector.
Function 1
Investigates and prosecutes corruption cases (mainly public officials).
Function 2
Prevents corruption by reviewing government agencies’ practices and procedures.
Function 3
Educates and mobilizes the public against corruption.
General overview of functions
If a government official is caught taking bribes, misusing power, or engaging in corrupt activities, ICPC steps in.

Prevent corruption - work with govt agencies to reduce opportunities for corruption
Educate Nigerians about corruption
Prosecute offenders – Takes corrupt officials to court.
Limitation
• It focuses mainly on government corruption, so it doesn’t handle private sector fraud.
• It does not deal with big financial crimes like money laundering or internet fraud.

they’re unable to discharge their duties due to infirmities or misconduct

When it’s acting, no one can slow it down.
Howver executive oversight is still there by appointing and dismissing
President doesnt have power in it’s day-to-day stuff
Another limitation (this time it’s judiciary)
They can’t prosecute cases without the approval of the AG.
Its prosecutorial powers aren’t independent.
