Goal = 2 g protein / kg daily

Trickle feeds are about 2-4 cc / hr to stimulate bowels

Goal usually 70 cc / hr or less

v. PPI (pepcid) - only use if on at home b/c risk c diff

1 - burns
2- vent > 48 hrs
3 - head injury

5 - high dose steroids
