Why did you apply for this position?
I applied for this position because it presents an opportunity for me to gain more experience and further develop my teaching and leadership skills while learning from experienced faculty members.
During my time studying here, I have greatly benefitted from the guidance and support of dedicated lecturers and faculties who have ignite my passion in teaching .
Now, I want to give back to the university and contribute to the development of future generations of students.

My experiences teaching English online have equipped me with a unique set of skills like digital literacy, adaptability, and interpersonal skills that are highly transferable to the classroom setting and enable me to effectively contribute to a supportive and engaging classroom environment. I believe that these skills are valuable in today’s world, where technology plays a significant role in education.
My experience as a teacher assistant has also provided me great insights into classroom management, effective instructional strategies, lesson planning and personal support to students which are highly relevant to this position.
With the experience I would gain from this leadership opportunity, coupled with my unique skills, experience, and passion for teaching, I believe that I can make a significant impact on students and this profession in the future.

What’s your teaching style?
My teaching style is student-centered, interactive, and inclusive. I create an engaging learning environment where students actively participate and collaborate. I use strategies like group work, discussions, and hands-on activities and creative projects to promote student engagement and critical thinking. I value inclusivity and respect for diversity, fostering a safe and inclusive space for students to express themselves. I provide timely feedback and assessments to support student progress. I aim to build positive teacher-student relationships and create a supportive learning environment.

What is the challenge of modern students?
Ans- Challenges are a part of each profession.
Today, students have everything available at the tip of their fingertip. The biggest challenge is to show them the the right and the wrong way of using technology. I would try to do research and learn about technology that can benefit my students and teach them to use it properly and responsibly. And find any technology that can combat cheating…
Why do you want to be a teacher?
She is my inspiration and I want to become a teacher. just like her so that i know that the students can come to me and get answers for anything and everything
When I was young I had Teacher who always went out of her ways to teach us things, not only which are present in the books but also which are necessary for outside book. She was always keen on shaping our personality to make us better versions of ourselves. She is my inspiration and I want to become a teacher. just like her so that i know that the students can come to me and get answers for anything and everything that they are stuck up in life she is my mentor till date and i want to be that mentor for some student in my teaching career
How do you evaluate student? How do you ensure that students understand the lesson?
so once I’ve taught a particular concept. I can evaluate the students by asking them questions, having games or quizzes in the class. Based on how they perform in that particular evaluation, I can understand if they understood or not. In addition to this, I also like to give them homework that’s in connection to what we’ve ended. class and next day when i evaluate the homework i can understand if a child has got the concept or not

“I believe that technology improves the learning experience by giving students new and imaginative methods to interact with course material.
I use technology in my classes in a variety of ways, including internet resources, multimedia presentations, and virtual simulations. For instance, I use instructional software to measure student comprehension and provide individualized feedback, and I also use social media platforms to stimulate discussions and organize virtual study groups.
In addition, I encourage students to use technology to produce and deliver projects such as multimedia presentations, podcasts, and digital portfolios. Incorporating technology into my courses not only helps me interest students, but it also prepares them for a technologically rich world and improves their 21st-century skills.
To stay current with innovations in the area, I am continuously exploring new technology and educational resources, as well as attending professional development workshops on a regular basis. I am confident in my abilities to integrate technology effectively into my courses and present students with a dynamic and interesting learning experience.”

How do engage and motivate students?
“To engage my university students, I would tap into their interests through modern media, current events, personal interest and experience, real-life example and customized materials to make my lesson more relavant to them.
I also use multimedia elements and Technology tools like videos and visuals online platforms and social media to bring the content to life and to enhance interactivity.
I also try to incorporate diverse teaching styles to cater to students different learning styles and make my lesson more interesting. Active participation is encouraged through discussions and group work, creative projects or task and hands-on activities.
Lastly, I would create a positive learning environment provide feedback and use positive reinforcement to make students feel comfortable to participate and share their ideas.
What techniques do you use to explain grammar clearly?
I contextualize grammar using examples from their lives and demonstrate rules through short speaking/writing activities where they practice the target forms. This helps cement understanding.

Challenge : how do you handle when students don’t understand the lessons?
If students don’t understand a lesson, I would find the root cause of the problem and then try to use a variety of strategies to help them, such as providing visual aids, context, model or examples, using different teaching methods, breaking down the complex concepts into smaller pieces, providing temporary support (scaffolding). I might also provide extra practice activities or recommend resources for independent study. I can also help them by giving additional explanations using simpler language or Simplify my explanation, and using visuals aids and online resources to help clarify the concept.
By using these strategies, my students understand the material better.
Have you experienced any research?
While I haven’t conducted formal research or published any work yet, my time at this university has ignited my interest in the research field. Through coursework and interactions with professors and peers, I have been exposed to various research projects that expanded my knowledge. However, I have not had the chance to actively engage in research myself. This opportunity will provide the guidance, resources, and mentorship I need to cultivate my research skills and explore topics of interest. I am particularly interested in pedagogical research to improve teaching and learning practices. This experience will allow me to contribute to the field and gain valuable insights into the research process.

OK first of all I would like to thank you for giving me this opportunity to talk to you today. So first let me introduce myself. My name is Chap Chanmony, and I’m a 24-year-old English teacher based in Phnom Penh. I hold a degree from the Royal University of Phnom Penh’s Institute of Foreign Languages, where I majored in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). After graduated, I worked as online English tutor for an online English tutoring startup called speakte where I had the opportunity to teach a diverse range of students, varying in different backgrounds, levels and age. currently Im working as teacher assistant at Paññāsāstra school where I assist teachers on lesson planning, develop curriculum and material and offer students support.Right now I’m looking for an opportunity that offers me a chance to develop and showcase my teaching and leadership skills which is why I felt compelled to apply for this position.
