Shield of Achilles

A

The shield transcends the trojan war and represents Greece back home, the Shield emphasises the desirability’s of peace and ‘normality’, what Trojans are hoping to go back to, also links to the all important ships that Achilles is not willing to risk, also represents what he could have chosen.
Realisistic = City at war, murder but also farming and living
War is only a sector of life and normality is idylic in itself
