Indicating and Crew Alerting Systems Flashcards
Where are the WTG failure messages displayed?
ED
What info goes directly from the ADC to the PFD?
IAS
What does the EIS (Electronic Indication System) show?
- Barometric correction (Hg)
- Barometric alt corrected by barometric correction (Hc)
- CAS
- TAS
- Vmo
- SAT
When does TCAS revert to TA only?
- GPWS warning
- Go around
- Engine failure
- Below 1150 AGL during takeoff
- Below 900 AGL during approach
What are the six basic EGPWS modes?
Basic:
1) Excessive descent rate.
2) Excessive closure rate of terrain.
3) Descent after takeoff.
4) Insufficient terrain clearance.
5) Excessive descent below GS
6) Advisory call outs.
Enhanced:
1) Basic ground proximity warning
2) Terrain clearance floor
3) Terrain alerting
What does the “Flight Environment Data” consist of?
2 primary air data systems and 1 standby air data system.
What is the range of the radar altimeter?
-2500 ft
What is the altitude range of the TCAS in NORM?
+/- 2700 ft
What PSA info is displayed on MFD 1
PFCS
Where do you find the marker beacon displayed?
Bottom right of EAD 1
What does the HSI Sel do?
Selects ADC
What does the static ISOL switch do?
Isolates static info to between respective ADCs
What is required to enter DUAL MODE?
- 2 ADCs: EFIS/ADC source set to NORM
- 2 FCMs: ATT/HDG on ESID set to NORM
- NAV Info source VOR/LOC 1 receiver as left nav source and VOR/LOC 2 set as right NAV source.
- PFD normal mode
- RA below 1200 ft AGL
- NAV 1 & 2 tuned to the same freq, approach courses set to the same value.
When does the CVR operate?
When electrical power is applied to the aircraft.
When does the FDR circuit start?
How long does the FDR record?
- Anti collision light set.
- Either engine is running (oil pres)
- Weight off wheels (nose or main)
- Test button set.
It records for 25 hours.
How is the navigation source selected on the PFD?
MFD?
- Nav source selector on FGCP.
- EFIS control panel.
Both pilots set the DH, but RA 1 has failed? Will there be a minimums call?
Yes. Although the pilots side triggers “MINIMUMS MINIMUMS” call, the co-pilots side will do so in this case.
What screens work in emergency mode?
ED, MFD 1, standby attitude indicator.
If you have a dual MFD failure, how and where can you get the info displayed?
ALL button to display on ED. Push and hold and it will cycle on each push.
What is auto reversion of the ED?
If the airspeed is above 50 kts, it automatically transfers to PFD 1 when it fails. If below 50 knots, it goes off and the takeoff must be aborted.
What is required for the stick pusher to function?
All components of the SPS including both SPMs.
What condition will you get a takeoff warning tone?
- Any spoilers extended.
- Flaps 0° or 35°.
- Park brake set.
- Pitch trim not set correctly in t/o range.
- One or both condition leavers not at max/1020 rpm.
What info is lost if ADCs fail?
What info is lost if AHRS fails? How many QRH items.
- ASI and ALT.
- HDG, ATT, IVSI. Read all 3 QRH items.
What does an “Air Data System” include?
What does the ADS calculate?
- 2 ADCs
- 2 Pitot static probes
- 1 Static temp probe to sense OAT
- 1 Pitot/static isolation valve to isolate the two primary ADS systems
- Pitot/static isolation valve panel
The ADS calculates:
- SAT
- Barometric correction
- Altitude rate (EGPWS)
- Airspeed
- Vmo
