I am pride of being part of the NZ police and understand the importance of how we conduct ourselves and interact with the public. I always do my best to ensure that whomever I am dealing with feels heard and ensure I follow through with any request for assistance. Aware of my surroundings and conducting myself in a professional manner at all times
My values RESPECT
Whether it be a work colleague supervisor member of the public or suspect, I always ensure I respect the other person regardless of the situation and how they may be reacting to you. These situation maybe caused by past experiences with police or the person is going through a hard time. Regardless giving. Respect earns respect back and this has served me well throughout my career in keeping people calm and making them feel more comfortable to disclose information that would not have been provided if a relationship built on respect had not been established from the get go.

Always aware of others and their experiences, not to judge and treat with kindness and respect. Often chosen specifically to deal with victims or witnesses as people often trust me quickly as I listen well and they feel comfortable around me. L3
Valuing diversity
Learn from others and their culture, well travelled and can communicate well even with language barriers. Understanding that others have different upbringings and being aware that they deal differently within their communities and families. Especially being such a diverse country
