A

CBE EUC LFT
Atypical lymphocytosis is key
- that is lymphocytes > 4500
- 10% atypical morphology

Paul BUNNEL test - EBV heterophile antibodies

If heterophile antibodies are negative, EBV specific antibodies IGM

Rx of EBV?

A

Supportive

  • paracetamol
  • NSAIDs
  • fluid good nutrition
  • rest

If airway obstruction or life threatening, corticosteroids
