Security on campus
24 hour security on each site, and acommodation support staff in the halls, and cctv
each hall has its own security coded front door access and individual student rooms have locks on the doors
where can i get more info on services available to students with individual requirements?
on open days, members of staff at student services stand in the support services fair in Portland will help
at other times, info can be provided by members of the events team or from student service centres around campus
are all first years accommodated for by the uni?
as a new 1st year on an undergrad course starting in sep 2017

If i study on jubilee, where do i live?
study buisness, cont. chinese studies (??), education, computer science
can choose to live either on jubilee or on uni park, in any acc. site.
if i study on SB, where do i live?
most choose to live on SB, though you can live on UP, and many 2nd/3rd students choose to commute from UP.
how much is accommodation?
depends on catered/selfcatered ; depends on which campus ; depends on what room you have
it ranges from approximately 4,398 pounds to 8,321 pounds
all bills, meals for catered halls, JCR membership, internet and personal contents insurance are included.
which halls have a bar / cafe?
all catered halls have a bar
bars in hugh stewart, willoughby, derby and lenton&wortley also serve food, where you can spend your meal card if you’re in catered acc.
broadgate also has a bar&cafe
where do students live in 2nd&3rd year?
Option to stay in halls as a returner
often private rent, average rent is approx 65-90 pounds per week per person, bills often on top of that
uni works closely with unipol to help students get good houses
SU student advice centre are happy to check over contract if you want.
International and European Baccalaureate grades to get into courses
there are minimum standards, but these vary from school to school, a typical offer is shown for every course in the prospectus.
does the uni accept BTECs
only for some subjects, generally engineering and science courses, check online prospectus for details
how much will the course cost if i am a new uk/eu entrant starting from 2017
subject to new regulations expected to be passed in autumn 2016, it will be 9,250
if these regulations are not passed, tuition fees will be 9000
please note - fees dont have to be paid upfront, uni provides a generous package of bursaries to support home students from lower-income families

levels 3&4 have silent study, have most of the books
