MDI technique

A
Sit up straight or stand 
Cap off 
Shake 2 or 3 times 
Hold the MDI like this... (thumb underneath) 
Breathe out gently like this... 

Immediately place mouthpiece in your mouth and put your teeth around it, make sure you’ve got a good seal on it

Start to breathe in slowly & deeply - as you breathe in, press canister to release 1 puff of medication

Continue to breathe in to maximum amount possible, and then hold your breath for as long as possible, but aim for at least 10 seconds

If second dose is required, wait 30-60s before re-shaking inhaler and repeating

Replace the cap
