Innervation Flashcards
(32 cards)
Anterior compartment innervation
Median nerve
Except 1.5 muscles by ulnar nerve
Posterior compartment innervation
All radial nerve
Indication of radial nerve problem
Wrist drop
Innervation of hand
All by ulnar nerve, except thenar muscles & LOAF
Innervation of upper limb
Everything ventral rami
C5-T1
Innervation of deltoid muscle
axillary nerve
innervation of supraspinatus
suprascapular nerve
innervation of infraspinatus
suprascapular nerve
What does the suprascapular nerve innervate?
supraspinatus & infraspinatus
Innervation of teres minor
axillary nerve
What does axillary nerve innervate?
deltoid & teres minor
Innervation of teres major
lower subscapular nerve
innervation of subscapularis
Upper and Lower subscapular nerve
Dual Innervation
What does lower subscapular nerve innervate?
subscapularis & teres major
What does long thoracic nerve innervate?
Serratus anterior muscle
Axillary artery course & branch
from outer border of first rip to upper border pec mino (superior thoracic artery)
deep to pec minor (thoracoacromial & lateral thoracic arteries)
from lower border of pec minor to lower border of teres major (subscapular, anterior circumflex humeral, posterior circumflex humeral arteries)
Continues from lower border teres major, axillary artery becomes brachial and continue on
Innervation of pec major
lateral pectoral nerve (C5-7) supplies clavicular head
medial pectoral nerve (C8-T1) supplies sternocostal head
Dual Innervation
innervation of pec minor
medial pectoral nerve (C8-T1)
innervation of subclavius
nerve to subclavius
innervation of serratus anterior
long thoracic nerve
lateral pectoral nerve innervates what?
pec major
medial pectoral nerve innervates what?
both pec minor and pec major
Long thoracic nerve innervates what?
serratus anterior muscle
Intercostobrachial nerve innervates what?
only skin of upper half of medial and posterior aspects of arm
