Insecure employment:
KU: what it is - when someone is working a zero hour contract meaning they only get paid when they’re needed to work. Meaning they don’t have a regular rate of income so might struggle to afford things.
A: important because it means that because they don’t have a regular rate of income they might spend a lot of money one week and not earn enough money the next week to make up for it
and might not be able to buy things like houses or cars
KU: it effects people who are already struggling for money and might not be able to find a full time job despite looking for one
young people and recently unemployed people are more likely to work on a zero hour contract because they’re just desperate for some form of income.
A: important because people with these contracts might not be able to get out of poverty until they find a full time job
which gives richer people the chance to earn even more money in that time.
E: insecure unemployment can be a problem for a while since it just depends how long the person stays in the contract for
and in some places the contracts can be more significant than othe
