what is the chloroplast?
A
The chloroplast is the organelle found in plants. the chloroplast is responsible for photosynthesis.

why is the chloroplast green?
A
the chloroplast uses a pigment called chlorophyll (which is green) to absorb light. when chlorophyll absorbs light, it transfers that light and heats up electrons to start the light dependent reaction.

what is the actual thing which captures light?
A
the Thylakoid. it is the disc shaped object and the site where photosynthesis happens. Has ETC and ATP synthesis.

Granum/grana
