Q

Why did internment fail (biased, outdated intelligence)

A

Nationalists felt it was biased against them. Therefore created a worse relationship between the British army, the people who implemented internment and themselves. (First loyalists were only interned in 1973 two years after internment began!!!)

Internment was also outdated intelligence and arrested the wrong people. All 452 men arrested weren’t a leading member of the PIRA
