Q

what is the Trinity? Who is Jesus? What is his Pascal mystery?

A

it is the central mystery of the Christian faith. The doctrine of the Trinity holds that God is one God, but three coeternal, con substitutional, devine persons: the father, the son,( Jesus, Christ), and the Holy Spirit “as one God, in three divine persons”.

Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life, must be the center, the criteria, and the model for our daily lives. his Pascal mystery is the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The work God, the father sent his son to accomplish on earth for the salvation of humanity.

A

A familiar or favorite image of Jesus, for me is Jesus being nailed to the cross. This image is very important to me, because it showed his love for us that he would die so we could enter the gates of heaven.

Q

Who is your sponsor? What is the main spiritual quality that they have that made you choose him/her?

A

My sponsor is Mary DiBenidetto. I chose my spirit because she is a great role model and I look up to her because of her spiritual qualities. Her main spiritual quality that made me choose her was her closeness with God. She is very close with God because of her confirmation, which makes me want to steal my baptism to be more like her.

Q

do you pray daily? And how do you like to pray? What does adoration of the real presence mean?

A

Real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Catholics give adoration to Christ, who we believe to be really present, in the body and blood, soul and divinity, in Sacramental bread, whose reality has been changed into that of his body. I do pray daily at night. I like to sit and pray on my bed and talk to Jesus about what happened that day and anything that has has been bothering me.

tell me about your saint. What spiritual qualities or virtues made you pick him/her and what inspires you about their life? How did they serve the church?

A

Saint Teresa of Lisieux practiced the virtue of meekness by loving all of the other nuns. I am very inspired by her to be kind to everybody, and understanding of everything people may be going through. She served the church by always donating to help others and helping others by showing small acts of kindness.

I would give money to the Make-A-Wish organization. This organization helps make children in need wishes come true. I’m not currently donating to this cause but in the future I would love to because this would make little kids so happy.

how would you respond to these questions “Why are you Catholic rather than just being a Christian?” (try to answer beyond because it’s what your parents/family are) “ why would anyone want to be Catholic?”

A

I am a Catholic rather than a Christian, because I believe that God, the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit are all the same in the Trinity. I think people would want to be Catholics because they want to grow closer to God..

What does the word mass mean? Do you feel committed at this point in your life to attending mass? Can you understand why going to mass is important and beneficial to a Catholic?

A

The word mass comes from the Latin word missa, which means to be sent. this Latin word has been used since the sixth or seventh century described the Catholic celebration of the Eucharist, our main liturgical service. a I understand why going to mass is important and beneficial to a Catholic because it is important to receive the Eucharist to be closer with God.

25
what have you liked about coming to religious education? What would you do to change anything about it? How do you feel that change would strengthen students relationship with God?
Coming to religious education for the past many years has definitely changed my stance on God. I have learned so much that has changed my perspective on the things Jesus has done for us. I wouldn’t change anything about class. I think it is very educational and important for catholics to attend.
