(7 cards)
What is
In a face to face nature can be trough phone or computers such as Skype
There are 2 types of interviews structured and unstructured
Good for gathering detailed info
Structured int AO1
-questions are pre set
-less likely to deviate from topic
-every interviewee asked same Q in same order
-cannot ask any extra info based on info provided my ppt
AO3 structured
Strength
-all ppt get same Q means possible to compare responses + identify trends nd patterns
UNLIKE unstructured interview ppt get diff questions
hard to make comparison
AO3 structured
Limitation
- R cannot deviate from pre set Q mean cannot follow up on new lines of enquiry
-do not get full understanding on behaviour
UNLIKE unstructured Q can be developed based on resp of previous Q
Unstructured inte AO1
-contain a topic area for discussion but no set Q so each inte gets diff Q
-Q based on response of interviewee so the int can discuss interesting points made by int
-open questions
AO3 strength of unstructured
-allow to go more in depth w response as Q based on response of interviewer
-mean fuller understanding of ppt behaviour
UNLIKE structured int where ppt only answer set list lf Q no deviation inc
-inc internal val of unstructured int
AO3 limitation of unstructured inte
-hard to identity patterns + trends
-all ppt asked diff questions
-making responses harder to analyse nd make comparisons between ppts
UNLIKE structured int where all ppt ans same questions
- much more diff to replicate
