Deficit Financing
Plan suggested by economist Keynes, which entailed government borrowing money to invest in the economy, leading to economic gains.
Dole
Vouchers which could be exchanged for goods, and was a last resort form of public relief in Canada. Kept lower than the lowest paying jobs in order to discourage usage, but led to insufficient living standards.

Unemployment Relief Camps
Camps that worked on public projects with minimal pay. They recruited single unemployed men, and the poor pay led to workers riding the rails in the on-to-ottawa trek.
Dionne Quintuplets
The first quintuplets to be born who lived more than a few days. They became a national phenomenon as a temporary distraction from the Depression, and were raised for 9 years by the government, separated from their family. They were eventually returned after a legal battle.
