Good client care is vital for a successful law firm. Chartered Legal Executives and all staff working in firms regulated by CILEX Regulation must comply with the CILEX Code of Conduct which sets out nine core principles which are supported by outcomes. Solicitors and staff working in law firms regulated by the SRA must comply with the SRA Standards and Regulations which are set out in seven Principles.
The SRA Code of Conduct for Solicitors and SRA Code of Conduct for Firms are included in the SRA Standards and Regulations.
Law firms must comply with strict anti-money laundering procedures to fulfil the requirements of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017.
