Mixture
A substance containing two or more
materials with different properties.
Property
A characteristic of an object.
Ex. Color, texture, size, shape, luster, flammability, state of matter.
Solution
A special mixture formed when one or more mixtures dissolves into another. Ex. cool aid, lemon aid, tea.
Dissolving

Evaporation
To turn slowly into a gas. Like water into water vapor.
Crystal
The solid form of a material that can be identified by its natural shape or pattern. Ex. Salt crystals formed when salt water solution evaporates.
Solvent
A substance that dissolve in a solute to form a solution. Ex water dissolves salt, so water is a solvent.
Solute

Concentration
The ratio of the amount of solute compared to the amount of solvent.
Dilute
Make a solution less concentrated. Ex. Add more water.
