Coal was 3x better than wood for energy and was good to use for factories but often caused bad pollution

Planted seeds neatly in rows and was faster and much less wasteful l new plants and animals were healthier but more expensive

Made weaving much faster and allowed large looms to be operated by one person
Laissez Faire
Business could be as free as possible from regulations and competition would make them grow, wealth would benefit everyone
Factory system
Working conditions were unsafe because safety would be expensive for owners who only cared about profit. Workers were payed as little as possible
Cottage system
There were small stores who only could make a limited amount of items
Factories made profits hard for them
Invention
Someone who creates something new that has a good impact on stuff
Child labour
Children would work from the age of 6
Families needed there children to work because their wages were low
Since they are small they would be put in dangerous situations
Profit
Payed workers little so the owners could make maximum profit
Energy sources
Used to use wood but switched to coal because wood was heavy and bulky and didn’t last long
Slavery
Britain would abuse its colonies and use the people as slaves to make money
Steam engine
A heat engine that performs mechanical work by using steam as a working fluid (used for trains factories and more)
James watt
How did the factory system impact factory owners nature and city?
Owners could sell a lot more things and pay the workers little
Made cities polluted
Ruined natural habitats for animals
Why did the IR happen in Britain but not other places?

How did transportation change the IR?
They made new gravel roads (James macadam invented this)
What kinda of laws did the gov make during the IR?
Laissez faire

What were working conditions like?
Safety was expensive so owners didn’t bother so they could make more profit
People worked in unsafe places and even more so for children
Payed little
