A

In the Qur’an Barzakh is described as a holding place or barrier to keep the soul away from the body.

A

” He has let free the two bodies of flowing water , meeting together. Between them is a barrier which they do not transgress.” Soul and body, once together in the earthy life are no longer together.

If you answer with the Shahadah then you will be shown your place in heaven but if you fail then you will go to hell and beaten with clubs until this time
This shows mercy, as people are given scripture which tells them the answers to the questions.

What are Al-Ghazali’s 4 groups of people?

A
  1. Those that know God and answer the questions about faith correctly
    —> Lovely creature will talk to them and they will see a garden
  2. Those that did good deeds but were more concerned with materialism in life
    —> They are shown hell, yet told they will wait in the garden
  3. Those that cannot profess Islam or the Qur’an as their guide
    —> Intermediate punishment
  4. This group do not even know the answers and they will be beaten and visited by the shape of a loathsome animal.
