  • modulates noradrenergic tone in Prefrontal cortex enhanced by noradrenergic input from the locus coertuleus
  • direct postsynaptic stimulation of alpha 2A receptors located on the dendritic spines of cortical pyramidal cells–> directly promote functional connectivity of prefrontal cortex
