Q

Japanese Whisky Production

A
  • Similar to the production of scotch.
  • Barley and peat have been imported from Scotland, when necessary.
  • Original goal was to duplicate scotch whisky.
  • Distilled twice using pot stills.
  • The Japanese place an emphasis on clear, almost transparent worts.
  • Japanese distillers rarely sell their whiskies to other distillers so most blends are produced from in-house whiskies.
