A

Story of the door- Utterson and Enfield are out on their weekly walk when they stop opposite a run down house on the corner of a by-street. Enfield tells Utterson about a story regarding the door and how a man trampled over a young girl and how he enters the house to get a cheque and gold to pay to the parents.

Name of and what happens in chapter 2

A

Search for Mr Hyde-Utterson goes home and is disturbed by what he learnt, he finds dr jekyll’s will and upon his death/disappearance it will go to Mr Hyde. Utterson goes to Lanyon to learn about Hyde but doesn’t learn anything. Utterson spends a day searching for Hyde and when he finds him he is repulsed by his appearance and manner and fears he will kill Jekyll to get the will.

Dr Jekyll was quite at ease-Two weeks later, Jekyll has a dinner party and Utterson is worried about him and asks him about the will but he refuses. We then learn why Jekyll and Lanyon fell out and Utterson again shares his concerns about Hyde but Jekyll persists that if anything happens to him the will goes through.

A

The Carew Murder Case-Almost a year later, the community is shocked by the murder of sir Danvers Carew. At the crime scene a half broken cane and a letter to Utterson is discovered. Utterson recognises the cane as a gift given to Jekyll. The police go to Hyde’s house and the other half of the weapon is found.

A

Incident of the letter-Utterson visits Jekyll, he finds him sitting quietly by the hearth and is shocked by his deathly appearance. He assures Utterson he’s not concealing Hyde and shows Utterson a letter whilst saying the envelope was burnt. When Utterson arrived home he asked his clerk to compare the writing of Jekyll and Hyde and despite being differently sloped they were exactly the same and Utterson locks it away.

The remarkable incident of Dr Lanyon-Despite a full scale search the police can’t find Hyde. Jekyll is also more sociable and renews relationships but won’t see Utterson. Utterson visits Lanyon who gives a letter to Utterson to be read when Jekyll dies or disappears-Lanyon then dies.

The last night-Utterson has a visit from Jekyll’s butler Poole who is worried about Jekyll, Utterson visits and when they arrive, the servants are huddled together. Utterson goes to Jekyll’s laboratory when he finds that Jekyll has been trying to source a drug. When Utterson speaks to him it doesn’t sound like Jekyll, he breaks the door down and finds a dead Mr Hyde. Utterson sees that the will is now assigned to him.

Dr Lanyon’s narrative-Letter is opened which Lanyon gave to Utterson-Lanyon was pleaded by Jekyll to go to his house, once there, he is told to pick up the contents of a drawer in his lab. The second request is to let a man into the house around midnight. Lanyon gives the contents to the man who mixes the contents and turns into Mr Hyde. Lanyon later dies of shock.
