The cane used to kill Carew. Seen as a rich victorian gentlemen possesion in the day but used as a murder weapon at night. Diatomic opposittes.
Lampost shows light against the night. Good vs evil.

A

Represents secrecy.
“At night under the fogged city mon.”
Crime happens in the night whilst the rich are sleeping. Grave diggers, murder (jack the ripper.) Brothels and Gin houses.

“The door, which was equipped with neither bell nor knocker was blistered and distained.”
Red baize door in Jekylls room hid all of his secrets and is also symbolically the door between Jekyll and Hyde.

The window finally represents the pain of the secrets of Jekyll being revealed.
The use of hyperbole infinite links to religion.
Prisoner represents how jekyll is being imprisoned by repression and now Hyde.
