What are the basic questions to ask?

Who are you processing with?
What are you paying in points?
Ask for the statement?
Do the math and show them look you are paying 3.7 percent on a volume of a couple 100,000 dollars. That is a huge amount of money and we saved one customer 78,000 dollars a year. 78k a year by putting them on cash discount. I play in two different spaces. The tradiional processing space and I know we can get you to around 2 or less than 2 percent, but the real goal here is to get rid of your processing cost and I have a program that does that, but what we do is we move laterally the cost of processing from you the merchant to your customer and the customer does not mind it at all because here is the deal. Let’s say you are selling ice cream cones and you are taking cash. I have to go to the ATM, so I can get 10 dollars, so that I can buy an ice cream cone, but I just paid 2.95 cents plus whatever my bank is going to charge me, so I am going to end up paying 15 percent to buy an ice cream cone. Go into the assumptinve close. Pull out applicaiton and say. Writes number one and two I will never ask you for money and I will never ask you to sign a contract. All’s I need is a little bit of information and I will get you on a program that will save you 10s of thousands of dollars per month. He feels out the front page himself and says this is what the equipment is going to be please sign here. Thanks for the oppourtunity to serve you. We will get you approved in about 24 hours and will have equipment here usually in 72 hours or so. I will come back and personally install it. I am a local guy and I belong to the local chamber of commerce and I will be your advocate for your credit card processing.

I am not here to sell you anything I am here to save you money. We are here to grow your bottom line. We are here to help grow your businesses. It’s not going to cost you any money in fact it is going to save you money.

That 3,000 dollars is somebodies paycheck it is It is a vacation it is a vacation a boat whatever it is you are dreaming of. It’s not just the money it is about your dream.

What to say instead of the customer pays for it

Hi I have a question? Are you guys on a cash discount program. No, I am not. This will be shocking, but we have a new properity terminal that redirects the fees you have to pay from visa and mastercard and all of those reward cards. it redirects it onto the ticket itself. instead of to you saving you thousands of dollars a month.

We are all small business owners and the cost of everything is going up and we work on slim margins and if your land lord came in and raised the rent or doubled the rent. What would you do? I would try to find another building, but what would you do in the meantime. Well I would have to raise my prices. you have to think of credit processing as the same of the cost of your apples your fruit. Or your vegetables or whatever it is you are buying. You have to understand that this is just antoher cost of doing business. What happens when you are a smart business man. You move the cost of doing business to the customer. If we are buying stuff from china and there is a 30 percent tarrif what are we going to do. We are guying to raise our prices 30 percent.
