Tell us a little about yourself
I’m graduating from staples high school in Westport, and right now I’m very excited about the future, going to college and being able to run, but I’m also interested in gaining some meaningful work experience. I enjoy setting goals and work hard to achieve them.
Why didn’t job last summer
Last summer I was spending most of my time training and my mother was battling cancer my whole junior year and last summer was the first time she was really able to spend time with me and my brother and I really wanted to spend that time with her.
Why this job?
I enjoy working with people of all ages and have had wonderful camp experiences growing up (ex. Recing crew in middle schooler) and fondly remember my camp counselors, specifically the ones that were thoughtful, engaged me and my friends in conversation, and made camp fun. And it would be wonderful to have the opportunity to be a positive
Experience with children.
As a captain of two teams, I’ve worked closely with freshmen and sophomores, developing their running programs, and tailoring training for different personalities and abilities. I really do enjoy helping others and watching them grow. Although I don’t have direct work experience for young children, I was not one too long ago and have an understanding of what it’s like to be young and interact with young adults. I was a little intimidated by teenagers, so I would do my best to listen, be patient, and make everyone feel comfortable.
Strengths? Weaknesses?
I pride myself with being patient, reliable, and trustworthy. This would be my first job so I would have to learn the ropes pretty quickly.
