- Q: Tell me about yourself
A: I am currently a high school student in the eleventh grade. I used to be an army cadet for 3 and a half years where I was a Sergeant. My interests include psychology, volunteering, and Law studies.
- Q: Why do you think you might be interested in this type of work
A: I have had an interest in medical science for a long time. I figured working at a dental office would give my general experience in the medical field and working a job in general.
- Q: What would you like to get out of working here
A: Since I’ve never had a professional job before, I’m hoping to gain general work experience and learn how to conduct myself in a professional environment. Jobs in the medical field often involve patient care, so I’m also looking forward to gaining experience in interacting with and treating patients, which will help me in my future career.
- Q: what responsibilities do you have at home?
A: At home, I help with daily chores like taking out the trash, doing the dishes, cleaning, and washing clothes—just like most kids. But overall, I see my main responsibility as helping to keep my parents’ lives easier by doing my part and staying on top of things.
- Q: Do you have any previous work experience?
A: I haven’t had a job before, but I had the opportunity to visit my father’s workplace as part of a school where I observed his daily tasks and asked questions and gained knowledge about general workplace expectations.
- Q: Have you done any volunteer work?
A: Yes, I have volunteer experience. Through cadets, I volunteered annually to hand out poppies for Remembrance Day. I also helped clear brambles around my school as part of the Endangered and Invasive Species Club. Last year, I volunteered at the Surrey Moon Festival in September and am planning on doing so again this year.
- Q: What do you like about school? Favorite subject?
A: I like school because it provides a clear direction for studying different subjects. If I tried to teach myself, I wouldn’t know which subjects to focus on, in what order, or how to balance them. In short, I like that school helps me stay on track and learn effectively.
My favorite subject in school is Law Studies because I found it interesting how laws apply to real-life cases. I also enjoyed the mock trials we performed.
- Q: Do you like to work by yourself or with a team?
I’m generally more comfortable working in a team. I find that work is done more effectively when tasks are divided among people, and having teammates also allows for peer review to ensure quality
- Q: Can you tell me about a time when you’ve felt a sense of accomplishment.
A: Of course, I am particularly proud of my performance during the sun run last year. I trained every day leading up to the event which paid off as I placed in the top 2% out of nearly 35 thousand people.
- Q: what skills or training do you have that could help you with this job?
A: I am a good public speaker and communicator, which allows me to effectively convey ideas to others. I work well in a team, ensuring smooth collaboration and cooperation. Additionally, I am highly organized, which helps me manage tasks efficiently and stay on top of responsibilities.

My time as a cadet taught me to be a diligent worker and develop good listening skills, so I can quickly understand instructions and efficiently complete tasks. I took many science courses so I am generally well adept at problem-solving and reasoning, which should help with any challenges that arise in the workplace and allow me to find effective solutions quickly.
- Q: Tell me about a time when you’ve had to resolve a conflict. What did you say or do?
A: During sciences labs are school me and my group members would occasionally conflict over data. I found that during these situations the best thing to do is to be receptive of the other person. Understanding the other persons makes it easier to come to an agreement or compromise which satisfies both people.
- Q: How do you feel about working in public?
I am quite comfortable as a public speaker, so I have no issues working in a public setting. If anything, I find that interacting with people in such environments is more fulfilling than doing work alone in silence.

A: No, I do not smoke or vape, and I do not intend to start doing so in the future.
- Q: Are you competent with technology? Give examples.
A: I’ve been using computers from a very young age, so I consider myself to be proficient in technology, with a strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Additionally, I completed computer classes in school from grades 8 to 10.
- Q: what are your future goals?
I enjoy and want to help others, and I want to work in a medical career where I can treat patients and make a positive impact on their lives. So, my goal is to go to university and then medical school to pursue higher education in the medical field so I can become a medical doctor and help others.
- Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I enjoy reading books and novels online at night to relax. In addition to that, I enjoy staying active by exercising, whether it’s working out at home or going to the gym with friends. I am also passionate about outdoor activities like going on long runs, hiking, and participating in marathons as I enjoy the physical challenge.
