toxin causes massive dehydration

what was a cesspit?

A

where all sewage would go from a household or collection of households.
“nightsoil men” carry it away. worked past midnight because it wasn’t a very pretty profession
“night soil” = sewage

who was John Snow?

A

physician and anesthesiologist. father of modern epidemiology. believed cholera was spread by water, not miasma and mapped out cholera around the pump. went door to door to ask abt infections and water, and removed pump handle.
