Q

EQUINE: Tarsal joint injection?

A

2 injection points:

  • Tibio-tarsal joint (tarsocrural joint): Dorsal-medial aspect btw. Tibia and talus (communicates with proximal intertarsal joint).
  • Tarsal-metatarsal joint: Medial btw the central tarsal bone and T3 OR Lateral btw. T4 and splint bone (communicates with distal inter tarsal in 30% of horses)
  • distal intertarsal if necessary
