Q
Secondary prevention of cardiogenic arterial thromboembolism in the cat: the double-blind, randomized, positive-contrlled feline arterial thromboemboillsm; clopidogrel vs. aspirin trial (FAT CAT). Journal of Veterinary Cardiology (2015) 17, s306-2317.
A
P- 75 cats who survived CATE event
I- 18.75mg PO q24hr clopidegrel vs 81mg PO q72hr aspirin
C- no control, because a placebo would have been unethical
O - clopidegrel significanly reduces the likelihood of recurrent CATE (and composite endpoint of cardiac death) compared with aspirin in cats. Both drugs were tolerated well
CATE = cardiogenic arterial thromboembolism
