What is a bimah ?
A platform in the synagouge from where the torah is read
What is the aron hakodesh ?
The ark - the holiest part of the synagouge where the torah is kept
What is a rabbi ?
A jewish religious leader and teacher
What is the ner tamid ?
An eternal light; that isnkept burning above the ark in the synagogue
What is a synagogue ?
A bulding of jewish publi prayer, study and gathering
What is minyan ?
A group of at least 10 adults
The minnimun number for jews required for a jewish service
What is a menorah ?
A many branched candel stick that holds either 7 or 9 candles
