What is the western wall?
The most important site in the world for Jews, the 15 metre high walls are the only remaining stone blocks still standing from the second temple

What’s a kippa?
They wear a kippa which is a cap worn on the head. It is worn by Jewish makes to show that they respect God and that God is above them
What is a tallit?
A tallit is a tasselled shawl which Jewish men wear. This is worn for morning prayers, in the fulfilment of a commandment from God.
What is a tefflin?
A tefflin is ribbons with a small box attached to it. Jews attach the box sometimes around the arm but often near the head to show they are thinking about God or they hang it near the chest to show that they love God
What is a menorah?
The menorah is a seven branched candelabrum and is the oldest symbol of the Jewish people. It is said to represent the burning bush. The menorah is used in the temple in Jerusalem and in many synagogues
What is the mezuzah?
A scroll which Jewish people keep inside a case and fix it to the right side of their door frames, if Jews move house he must remove the mezuzah from the door and take it with them
What is the shema?
Love the Lord with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and all your strength

It celebrates the most important event in Jewish history
What happens the night before Passover?
The children play a game where they search pieces of unleavened bread hidden around the house. This symbolises that the Jews left Egypt in a hurry.
Why do Jews get married under a canopy?
To show their connection
Why do Jews break a glass on their wedding day?
To show they are actually married
What does barmitzvah mean?
Son o the commandment
