1. Ct take JN of indiputable facts that are matter of common knowledge or capable for verification
2. JN is conclusive in civil but not in criminal case. Jury is instructed it may, but not required to accept.
3. Cts must take JN of fed and state law. Ct may take JN of municipal ordinances and private act.
