Why can’t some jurors sit?
A
•Under the CJA 2003, schedule 1 jurors are unable to sit if they’re mentally disordered

What qualification do you need to be a juror?
A
- between 18-70 years old
- an elector
- a UK resident for at least 5 years

Why are some jurors discharged?
A
If they’re blind/dead or can’t speak English properly etc.

Who can be given excusal?
A
A full time member of the armed forced may be excused

Why can jurors be given discretionary excusal?
A
If they have a good reason to be finished for example being too ill
