What is jury pool, venire, and voir dire? Process of jury selection?

A

Technically a deselection.

A random sample of jurors is drawn from the jury pool, and everyone in the sample of potential jurors is sent a summons to appear

> everyone who shows up is the venire

> follow “one day of one trial system”= called for jury duty you only need to make yourself available for one day unless you are selected

> voir dire= final stage of jury selection, attorneys and judge ask potential jurors qs to determine who will serve on jury
