French admiral in charge of the French Navy, happened to be in the atlantic army while Cornwallis was retreating back to Yorktown. Marcel De Grasse wins the battle of chesapeake bay, located just off Yorktown after being trapped because the French had established control of the bay, forcing Cornwallis into Yorktown

Benedict Arnold

A

American Continental general, a good soldier who led his troops, but felt he didn’t get enough credit for his victories, so he switched sides. Both the Americans and the British thought of him as an American traitor, he gets no respect in England either, and finally moves to Canada, where the French Canadians also gave him no respect.
