What is comparative horoscopy?
The process of analyzing relationship dynamics based on star signs and birth charts.
What is haruspicy?
A type of divination used in the Roman Empire were a haruspex (practitioner) would interpretate the will of the gods by looking at features/anomalies on the internal organs of sacrificed animals.
What is ornithomancy?
A form of divination performed in Ancient Greece by looking at the behavior of birds, including but not limited to their noises and flight patterns.
What is alectryomancy?
A form of divination where the diviner scatters grain on the floor and observes a rooster’s (or other bird’s) pecking behaviors.
What is pyro-osteomancy?
A form of deviation where the diviner heats animal bones/turtle shells and interpretates the cracks that appear on them. Commonly used in Ancient China (Shang Dynasty).
What is oneiromancy?
When you interpretate your dreams to predict the future.
What is bibliomancy?
A form of deviation where you interpretate a random page of a book (especially the Bible).
What is hydromancy?
A form of divination where the diviner interpretates the movements and appearance of water.
What is astragalomancy?
A form of divination that interpretates dice (which are often specially marked). Animal knuckle bones were traditionally used for this.
What is scyphomancy?
A form of divination which interpretates the behavior of water in a cup or goblet. Often your would place objects in this water and then observe their reflection or the movement of the water. This has roots in Persia and Ancient Egypt.
Valhalla
A hall in Norse Mythology where dead warriors go if they are deemed worthy by Odin
Tartarus
An infernal region in the underworld in Greek Mythology where gods locked up their enemies.
Diyu
Basically just Chinese hell. It is like a country and even has a capital.
Jigoku
Basically Japanese Hell. Believed to be underground and have both hot and cold areas.
Samsara
Buddhism’s cycle of living a mundane life, dying, then reincarnating. This is considered suffering.
Happy Hunting Ground
A place where (according to some American Tribes) the souls of warriors go after death to enjoy feasting and hunting.
Fireside Chats
Networks on the radio which was usually delivered by some leader, to comfort the audience during difficult times.
Churchill’s Wartime Broadcasts
Basically fireside chats given by Winston Churchill during WWII to boost British morale.
Apollo 11
The space mission that put Neil Armstrong on the moon in 1969.
Neujahrskonzert
A new years classic music concert performed yearly in Vienna.
Oxidization
Elements combining with oxygen.
Ignition
The act of setting something on fire.
Combustion
Process of something burning.
Flash Point
The temperature when specific organic substance begins to give off enough vapor to ignite in air.
