What is the difference between Deductive and inductive arguments?
Deductive = The argument is certainly true
If the parts of an argument are true it is logically impossible for the conclusion to be false.
Inductive = The argument is probably true.
They provide support for the conclusion
What is Moral evil
Evil acts committed by people
(Torture/Murder)
What is Natural evil
Suffering as a result of natural processes.
(Earthquakes - natural disasters)
What is a first order good/evil
Good = Pleasure
Evil = Pain
What is second order good/evil
Good= Bravery/compassione
Evil = Cruelty/Torture
What does second order try to do from First order?
Second order tries to maximise first order.
So Being compassionate tries to maximise pleasure.
Being cruel tries to maximise pain.
What is epistemic distance ?
The distance between humans and God
