Lexical choices

a literary technique that assigns animal characteristics to non-animal objects, humans, and events
alliteration
The repetition of the same sounds (mainly consonants) usually at the beginning of words.
sibilance
The repeated use of the ‘s’ sound in the beginning, middle or end of nearby words
assonance
The repetition of vowel sounds in a series of two or more words.
onomatopoeia
When a word sounds like the word it is describing. For example, ‘buzz’ or ‘hiss’.

writing principle which suggests that a trio of things such as events or characters is more humorous, satisfying, or effective than other numbers

Any repeated idea, theme or image that has a symbolic significance in the text.
polysyndeton
co-ordinating conjunctions being used several times in close succession in a list- (i.e We ate roast beef and squash and biscuits)
