The definition of faction
A group of like-minded politicians usually formed around a key leader or in a support of a set of preferred policies

When the party link government people to the people by responding to a particular issue or opinion.

Set collective goals and formulate public policy. They use forums,leaflets,manifesto’s etc in order to gain the electorates support.

All senior political careers start with the decision to join a political party.

An “ism” a more or less coherent set of ideas, values and theories that help to explain the world and guide political action.

An ideology that covers beliefs from revolutionary communism to reformist social democracy. People are social creatures who are bound together by a common humanity.

An ideology stance that supports a broad balance between a capitalist or market economy on the one hand and state intervention on the other.

Difference between a political party and a faction?
Political parties only emerged during the 19th century, so until then there were only factions, which operated in the house of commons. They did not have wider membership outside of parliament.
