where there are too many people and not enough resources to support a satisfactory quality of life

the growth of towns and cities leading to an increasing proportion of a country’s population living there from the countryside (an increase in the percentage of people who live in cities)
counter-urbanisation
people moving from urban (cities) to rural (countryside) areas
re-urbanisation
people moving back to rural areas after moving to urban areas
