Kinematics Flashcards
(60 cards)
Skip part c
Only part C
Do part a and b but picture contains solution for C
Part a = T = u/g
Answer for part b = 15.6m
Picture contains solution for part c
Sketch an acceleration time graph for a vehicle that accelerates at 15/16 ms^-2 for 16 seconds. Then maintains a speed of 15ms^-1 for 48 seconds. The car then decelerates at 2.5 ms^-2 for 6 seconds
Solution is of part c)
Tips on graph :
- line must be straight as acceleration is constant
- Ball hits velocity = 0 before T seconds so line must be going straight down
Sketch a velocity time graph of a projectile with initial velocity of 14.7, final velocity of -24.5 and 4 seconds to hit ground first time
Direction of i and j
i is horizontal and j is vertically
You initially got it wrong because you assumed u was the horizontal velocity
Trick for part b is that initial vertical velocity is zero because it is projected horizontally
For vertical velocity, assume that it can be either final vertical velocity can be positive or negative
How should you answer when a question asks find direction of motion of a certain point
Find final velocity for both horizontal and vertical, then proceed to use tan^-1 making horizontal adjacent and vertical opposite
Then say direction is angle below the horizontal
Theta = 74.6 degrees
If sin a = 0.85, what does cos a equal
