trauma: AP + HBL (on bed)
non-trauma: standing AP + lateral
AP knee patient position (trauma)
supine on the table with knee and ankle joint in contact with the table, leg extended and knee is not rotated
centring point
1.5cm distal to the apex of the patella (AP), middle of the superior border of the medial tibial condyle (lateral)
collimation
- superior to include the distal femur
- inferior to include proximal tibia/fibula
- lateral and medial to include skin margins
