What is a Costume Plot?
A list or chart made by the costume designer showing the characters appearing in each scene, and what they are wearing. This helps track each character’s whereabouts throughout the performance.
What is Muslin?
A simply woven cotton fabric used to make the costume mock-up also called factory cotton or unbleached cotton.
What is a Wardrobe Plot?
Actor-by-actor, scene-by-scene inventory of all the costumes in a production, with a detailed breakdown into every separate item in each costume.

Define the term Contouring and Highlighting in Stage Make-Up
A make-up colour that is slightly darker than skin tone is applied to areas such as the hollows of the cheeks, side of the nose, the temples to create a fake shadow effect to give a slimming and defining effect.
Contouring is often used alongside highlighting, which uses a lighter tone on the tip of the nose, cheekbones etc.
What is Derma Wax?
Wax putty used to create skin wounds and bumps. The more the wax is worked with and warmed, the stickier it becomes, meaning it can be used without a separate adhesive. An oil-based make-up remover should be used to remove the wax.
What is Liquid Latex?
Widely used for special make-up effects, and as an adhesive for bald caps or wound effects. It can be applied over skin to create wrinkle effects.

What is a hair weave / extension?
A hair weave or extension is a human or artificial hair utilized for integration with one’s natural hair. Weaves can alter one’s appearance for long or short periods of time by adding further hair to one’s natural hair or by covering the natural hair together with human or synthetic hairpieces. Weaving additional human or synthetic pieces can enhance one’s hair by giving it volume and length, and by adding colour without the damage of chemicals or by adopting a different hair texture than that of their own.

What is an Epaulette?
Epaulette is a type of ornamental shoulder piece or decoration used as insignia of rank by armed forces and other organizations. Flexible metal epaulettes (usually made from brass) are referred to as shoulder scales.
