Knowledge Validation Flashcards
What is the minimum voltage for batteries 1 and 2 before start
22.5 V
What is the procedure if battery voltage is less than 21.0?
Write it up in the EAML as a mechanical irregularity.
DO NOT DEPART.
The E-PBIT is automatically peformed when an initial AC source is introduced. What actions will interrupt the test?
Any hydraulic pump in running.
The Flight Control Mode Panel switches are cycled.
The AC power supply is interrupted.
If AC power is lost, what is the procedure for reestablishing AC power?
Power down must be accomplished using the shutdown and leaving the airplane checklist.
Established flows, checklists, and procedures must be used to re-establish power to the aircraft.
BATT 1 Overtemp message populates on the EICAS with an associated triple chime and Master Warning Light, what do you do?
Memory Item
Battery 1 OFF

Enter Mechanical Irregularity in the EAML.
Call Maintenance Control
What is the Min Hydraulic Reservior Temp for engine start?
- 18 Deg C
What is the Max Fuel capacity?
20,935 lbs
During fueling operations, a FUEL IMBALANCE caution message is presented on the EICAS, what is the Max fuel imbalance ?
794 lbs
What is the Max temperature for APU start –
ISA +35
What time period must elapse after the EICAS is energized prior to starting the APU
Wait 30 seconds
An APU FUEL SOV FAIL Caution message is displayed after the EICAS is fully energized, what do you do
APU Switch ON
Wait 2 seconds
APU Switch OFF
If this clears the message, it is considered a nuisance message and no write up is necessary.
Is it permissible to simultaneously use the APU bleed and HP cart
Simultaneous use of the APU bleed and the HP cart is prohibited.
When should the TO DATA SET MENU on the MCDU be set to ENG –
Between 5 deg C and 10 deg C with visible moisture, possibility of encountering visible moisture up to 1700 ft, and on contaminated ramps, taxiways, and runways where surface snow, ice, standing water or slush may be ingested, or freeze on engines, nacelles or engine sensor probes.
When should the TO DATA SET MENU on the MCDU be set to ALL
For the same above conditions when the OAT is 4 deg C and below.
What is the SOPM definition of “visible moisture”
Such as clouds, fog with visibility of one mile or less, rain, snow, sleet, ice crystals.
What are the Starter Cranking Limits on the ground
90 seconds on, 10 seconds off for starts 1 through 2.
Followed by 90 seconds on, 5 minutes off for starts 3 through 5.
What are the Dry Motoring Cycle Limits
90 seconds ON, 5 minutes OFF for first start.
Followed by 30 seconds ON, 5 minutes OFF for 2 through 5 attempts.
During engine start you experience a hung start, what are the indications and what action do you take
N1 or N2 failing to accelerate to stable idle speed.
What other conditions require aborting a start
OIL
No positive oil pressure within 10 seconds after N2 increase. Oil pressure stabilizes below engine limits.
ITT
No ITT indication within 30 seconds
ITT Exceeds start limit 815 deg C.
N1/ N2
N1 or N2 fail to accelerate and stabilize at idle speed. HUNG START
With a tail wind, when a positive N1 is not indicated prior to starter cutout 50% N2.
An intermittent electrical or pneumatic or starter malfunction occurs before the starter cutout.
At idle engine thrust, the engine exhaust danger area can extend to approximately 90 feet behind the aircraft with a jet blast velocity reaching
greater than 65 mph
A NOTAM prohibits taxiway usage to aircraft with a wing span of greater than 100 ft, what is the wing span of the ERJ 175
Wingspan 93 ft 11 inches
What are the Max taxi speeds on dry surface conditions (straight/turns)
Straight - Dry - 30 kts
Turns - Dry 10 kts
What are the Max taxi speeds on wet or contaminated surface conditions (straight/turns)
Straight - Wet or Contaminated - 10 kts
Turns 5 kts
If the nosewheel deflects partially or fully uncommanded, what is the memory item –
Memory Item:
Nose Wheel Steering Disconnect Switch - Press
Steer the aircraft using differential braking and rudder.
