Q

what is GRAM STAINING METHOD?

A

bacteria is stained with crystal-violet(violet / purple / red in color),

  1. after the bacteria attains the color of dye, it is then alcohol washed,
  2. if it retains the color (CRYSTAL VIOLET) ; then we classify it as G+ve
  3. if it looses the color (CRYSTAL VIOLET); then again it is stained with SAFRANIN PINK, and we classify it as G-ve.
