Biguanide AEs (+ contraindications)

A

(metformin)
GI: anorexia, n/v/d, abdominal discomfort

long-term: B12 absorption

small risk of FATAL lactic acidosis

Contraindications: renal / hepatic disease, alcoholism, hypoxia
