explain how to make copper sulphate

A

1 Half fill a 250cm beaker with boiling water from the kettle.

2 Add 15cm² of 0.5M sulphuric acid to a boiling tube.

3 Add a small spatula of copper oxide and gently swirl the tube. Only add more copper oxide if it all reacts ie, you cannot see powder at the bottom of the tube any longer.

4 Filter the solution into an evaporating basin.

5 Heat over a Bunsen burner and boil for 2 minutes MAXIMUM-do
not allow it to boildry.

5 Leave to cool
