Exposition
The start of the story. Introduces the setting and characters.
Rising action
The series of events and conflicts in the story that lead to the climax.
Climax
The turning point. The most intense moment (either mentally or in action) where the character comes face to face with the conflict
Falling action
The action which follows the climax
Resolution
The conclusion- the solution to the conflict is presented
Conflict
A dramatic struggle between opposing forces
External Conflict
Between a character and someone/something in the outside world
Internal Conflict
Occurs within the character

First person

Second Person
The narrator addresses the reader or sometimes seems to be talking to them selves. Uses you.
Third person
Someone outside is telling the story. The characters may not know everything the reader does. Uses he she or they.
Third person limited
A story told from a characters point of view
Third person omniscient
A story told by a narrator who knows the thoughts, feelings, and actions of all characters.
Third person objective
A story told by a narrator who is not part of the story and does not comment on the thoughts and feelings of any character.
