Q

What are the steps of the scientific method (and what do they entail)?

A

Observation, ask (answerable) questions, hypothesis (answers question) (if), prediction (expected result if hypothesis is correct) (then), experiment (controled test to gather data), and conclusion (compare data to prediction, hypothesis supported/unsupported).

Q

What is the pH scale measuring?

A

Hydrogen concentrations. Therefore, a lower pH reading means increased acidity meaning an increased availability of H ions and at neutral the rate of hydrogen ion binding is equal to hydrogen ion releasing.

Q

What does a slope tell us about pH?

A

It tells us if the pH of a substance changes and if so how much. The closer to zero the slope the better the buffer.
